During the 2020 Presidential primary campaign, DJDI conducted voter education on the various health care reform proposals offered by candidates. From Florence to Anderson and Charleston to Columbia, our organizers, community ambassadors, and canvassers held health care reform luncheons and other events at community centers, barber shops, colleges, and churches. Our Voter Scorecard helped voters identify the differences between candidates’ proposals.
More than 16,000 voters signed our “I’m a Medicare for All Voter!” pledge card. “I’m a Medicare for All Voter” billboards and radio ads helped draw attention to the issue. DJDI continues it educational work on the state of health care in South Carolina via op/eds, presentations, and webinars, and in coalition with Medicare for All-SC.
